10/9/13

Back Squat
335 x 3
355 x 3
375 x 5
405 x 1
425 x 1
440 x 1
450 x 1 (no knee wraps.  light belt)

Very happy about this one as well.  That's two deployment goals in the tank.  I will definitely say I don't feel the need to max out on squats again for a little while.  I think going hard in the 80-90 and even into 95% range is more than sufficient to make good gains.  425 felt great, very smooth and all I was focused on were my cues. Even 440 felt pretty good and also smooth.  450, however felt like it was more about pushing through faults and breakdowns than it was training, which has it's own benefits I suppose.  But I do believe there is more training value to be had in those hard, but still smooth reps where you're focusing on form than there is taking it to the edge too frequently.

Having said all that, I certainly don't want to stop setting goals so my new squat goal for this deployment is 405 x 5.
